NORWALK, CT — Fans of TikTok star and Norwalk native Charli D’Amelio may be able to root for her and her mother, Heidi, on the newest season of “Dancing with the Stars,” according to media reports.
TMZ reports the mother-daughter pair have joined the cast of the reality dance competition’s 31st season, however they will compete against each other and other celebrities as separate contestants, not as a team.
Deadline also reported the pair will appear on the show this fall and will be competing against each other.
The cast has yet to be officially announced, so the D’Amelios’ appearance is still a rumor at this time. The season premiere will air live Sept. 19 on the streaming service Disney+ instead of its usual network, ABC, and be hosted by celebrities Tyra Banks and Alfonso Ribeiro.
According to TMZ, Charli D’Amelio began dancing at a young age, making her a potentially strong candidate to win the competition.
She also first gained fame on the popular music and dance-oriented social media site by posting dance videos that started trending.
The social media personality and her sister, Dixie, have tens of millions of followers on TikTok. They are currently among the most-followed accounts on the social media platform.
